Stoller Architecture is Architect of Record in the renovation of the Barrington Stage theater in Pittsfield, responsible for structural, mechanical and code related issues. The new interior was designed by Bogdanow Associates, Architects. The construction involved the demolition and renovation of the entire interior of the theater. In my design for a new marquee, a lightweight oval form is hung off the corner of the building by means of cables attached to the roof. The curving red form seems to suggest that it continues into the interior. At night the marquee will glow, and the cables from which it hangs will carry a multitude of diodes forming lines of light that define the marquee and announce the show.
